About Me
Creeds Elementary has been my home school for the last 18 years.  I have taught a variety of lev= els from preschool to college during my 28 years in the field of education.  Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, Ga. is my undergraduate alma mater a= nd Old Dominion Univer= sity is where I received my Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education = and a certification in Guidance and Counseling.  This year I achieved National = Board Certification.

 

I have two children and a curly, red-headed grandd= aughter.

My= Mission

The mission of the Guidance and Counseling Programs at Creeds Elementar= y is to support home and school efforts in order to promote students’ academic/educational, personal/social, and career development.

My Philos= ophy

I believe that providing age appropriate, differentiated instruction on educational, career, personal and social development to every student i= n an individual or group manner can:

Classro= om guidance lessons are conducted weekly in all K-5 classes. 

Monday = – 1st grade/4th grade/5th grade/3rd grade

Tuesday= – 1st grade/4th grade/2nd grade

Wednesd= ay – 3rd grade/2nd grade

Thursda= y – 5th grade/3rd grade/2nd grade

Friday = – Kindergarten (AM & PM)/4th grade

 



 

 

What does the counselor do?

The counselor helps children be better learners by developing and reinforcing personal, emotional/social, and academic skills.

How does the counselor support this learning?

I conduct classroom guidance lessons, facilitate small group learnin= g, and provide individual sessions to promote personal, emotional/social, = and academic skills.

How do children get to see the counselor?

Children may be referred by a teacher, parent, or they may self-refe= r.

How can the counselor help me as a parent?

The counselor can provide resources, help develop positive parenting strategies, and  encourage and support parenting efforts.
