WEEK OF MAY 5 – 9
MATH –We’re finishing up our unit on measurement this week and will begin working on probability. Please continue to practice multiplication facts at home.
SCIENCE – We will be taking our science test on Tuesday covering the flashcards that the children have been studying. They will also need to be able to label the parts of the water cycle – evaporation, condensation, and precipitation and recognize that the sun is the energy that drives the water cycle. They can review science textbook pages C38 – C75.
SOCIAL STUDIES – We are beginning our unit on famous Americans as well as American government. The children received new flashcards today. Please begin reviewing them tomorrow.
LANGUAGE ARTS- This week’s story is The Pinata Maker. Please review and re-read the story with your child at home. The selection test will be on Thursday. This week’s spelling concept is Vowels in Final Syllables. Please ask your child to share their words with you from their spelling notebook. The spelling test is on Friday. Biography book reports are due on Friday. I look forward to seeing all your costumes!
We have two weeks until SOL testing begins! J We are excited about them and know our students will do well. Please encourage your children to study those review packets in their spare time!
