What are the class rules?

1.      Follow directions the first time they are given.

2.      Raise your hand to speak.

3.      Stay seated unless you have permission to be out of your seat.

4.      Please keep hands, feet, and objects to self.

5.      Change tasks quickly and quietly.

6.      Have all necessary materials daily.

7.      Complete all homework assignments.

8.      Turn in all assignments and projects by the due date.

What is the penalty for not completing homework?

Students are required to fill out a Think Sheet and have it signed and returned.  The Think Sheet is written notification that homework was not turned it and that the missing assignment has been marked in the grade book. When the missing assignment is completed and turned in the student receives credit for turning the assignment in. Homework is reflected in the Work Habits section of the report card.

How often is homework assigned?

Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday evenings.  Occasionally, there is a long term project.  Homework assignments are to be completed in cursive.  I collect homework after it has been checked in class.

When are graded papers sent home?

Graded papers are sent home every Tuesday.  Please look through them with your student and discuss their strengths and weaknesses and plan to improve.  After you have looked the papers over, please sign the envelope and return the envelope to school.  I also send home PTA notices, announcements, and other important papers every Tuesday.

How will my child keep track of their homework assignments?

Every student has an agenda.  It is the student’s responsibility to write down all homework assignments on a daily basis. Please check your child’s agenda every day.  It is your child’s responsibility to be sure all homework is completed and returned to school the next day.
